1-21-08 - Review of Godzilla Unleashed : I do game reviews for a kids' website most of the time. One of the things that helps me get a solid perspective on things is having my 11-year-old son play games with me. Recently we took a stab at Atari's new Godzilla game, Godzilla Unleashed, for PS2 and Wii. I was a bit guarded at first, because I'd been following the game for a while and had posted some early gameplay videos that, to be charitable, were ugly.

1-21-08 - 'Cloverfield' Clobbers MLK Record: After months of hype, Cloverfield lumbered to the top of the weekend box office, raking in an estimated $46 million over the four-day Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend. 27 Dresses opened strongly in second place, while The Bucket List had a healthy hold, contributing to one of the busiest MLK frames on record.

1-19-08 - 'Godzilla' provides power on MMA training ship : ABOARD T.S. ENTERPRISE — Her proper name is Wärtsilä. But the noise and heat she generates lend her an apt nickname — Godzilla. She's the 1,500 kilowatt diesel generator tied down in the bowels of the ship's hot engine room — really a maze of steel and pipes, islands of pumps jutting up through grated walkways, and walls of tubing in a cavity that runs, deck after deck, from underwater up to the top of the ship's stacks.

1/18/08 - Interview With Steve Ryfle - Godzilla vs Cloverfield : Turns out, it is. 1-18-08 - Article From The Boston Herald - Godzilla helps us conquer our anxieties : Why do we carry a torch for Godzilla? 1-08-08 -Sony Has Seen The Future, And The Future Is Godzilla Ringtones : After explaining that "home video is no longer an ancillary market, now it's a PRIMARY market", Dean Devlin dropped a radioactive bomb on us. According to Devlin, those people who own a Sony Blu-Ray™ device "will now be able to see Godzilla as we always intended." We laughed out loud, only to quickly learn that it wasn't a stand-up performance. While we appreciate the marketing rationale on a certain level (we suppose it makes sense to try and capitalize on the American public's renewed interest in giant lizards rampaging through lower Manhattan), we can't help but wonder why Sony picked Godzilla from their massive library to push their blazing new format on the masses.
